1. 100% Local-First Software Architecture

FolderTamer was engineered from the ground up to operate completely offline. All file inspection, Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) condition evaluation, move, copy, rename, compression, and trash operations take place exclusively on your local computer using native Windows APIs.

2. Zero Transmission of File Contents or Names

FolderTamer never reads, uploads, syncs, or transmits your file names, folder paths, document contents, metadata, or browsing history to any remote server or cloud service. Your files remain on your disk at all times.

3. License Activation & Device Binding

When activating a Pro Lifetime license key, FolderTamer contacts our activation server (api.foldertamer.com). The only information transmitted during this one-time handshake is:

• Your purchased license key (e.g. FT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX)
• An irreversible SHA-256 cryptographic hardware hash (HWID)
• Your machine hostname (e.g. DESKTOP-PC) to identify devices in your account
• Operating system build number

This data is strictly utilized to enforce the license seat limit (up to 3 PCs per license) and is never shared, sold, or paired with third-party tracking services.

4. Embedded Loopback MCP Server

FolderTamer includes a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Claude Desktop. This server binds exclusively to the local loopback interface (127.0.0.1) and does not listen on external network adapters or open internet ports.

5. Data Deletion & Unbinding

You may unbind your hardware signature at any time by clicking "Deactivate" in the FolderTamer Settings tab, or by contacting privacy@foldertamer.com.
